Ascolano
A table and oil varietal from central Italy, the Ascolano produces large fruit that ripens early. Its pollinators are Leccino, Frantoio, Pendolino, Itrana, Manzanillo and Mission varietals. These trees are also found in the Central Valley where they are grown for the canning industry because the fruit is large, firm and freestone. The oil is distinctive and fruity.
